I love this new site called Looklet.com. It’s super cool. You get to have this girl as your base, and you could try new looks on her by selecting on the websites wide array of clothes on their data base.

I love this line, I love how it’s like draped men’s pyjamas and shirts transformed into women’s clothes like tops and dresses.

Ok I like this one, though I’d rather that they make this a bit shorter.

Hmmm…this is okay I guess, not so crazy about it though.

I like this blazer and the ensemble!

I hate matching things, and this is just perfect for me. The key with matching different prints like stripes and some intricate design, is to make sure the colors wouldn’t clash.

This has got to be my favorite dress this season! I just love it!!! Purple is my favorite color and this dress just speaks volumes. If I could get married in purple colored dress this would be it lol!

While I’m not so crazy about her cover, I mean at first I thought it was a boy. I love the fashion editorials, it really brings out her beauty. I really wish her well and her daughter.

Wow! we’re talking about spring 2010 already, and I felt winter is just in the corner. It’s funny when you buy those magazines who collected the pictures from the runway, they cost like 4x a regular magazine which is quite weird we see them online at the same time anyway. And their magazines are like published a month after.

Oh gosh I wish Ashley Greene could really see the future in real life and she could predict the horrendous outcomes everytime her stylist makes up her mind regarding her outfits. It’s horrible!!! Ashley is really pretty and I really think she has good acting potential but please change stylist now!!!

I’m getting lured into MAC’s Style Black Collection. I like the eyeliner Mascara, Eyeshadows and everything, but it’s nothing new for me since for eyemakeup, I buy black colors for mascara and eyeliner anyway.

I guess the only thing new for me in this collection will be the black lipstick, which I think for now, I’d pass. I don’t think I could pull it off.

Geesh, i just read that actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who plays Victoria in Twilight and New Moon, will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in the upcoming Eclipse Movie.

It’s because of some schedule conflicts that Lefevre has. You could read more about this from Yahoo.

I’m a little disappointed about this, not that Howard is not good, i’ve heard great comments about her, but it’s just that i got used to Lefevre already and i think she played the role Victoria quite well.

Although, Lefevre is claiming that it’s just a 10-day overlap, and the Twilight producers are claiming otherwise, i think that maybe she should’ve prioritized the projects that she really wants. Sometimes, it’s not about having it all.

Before coming to Shanghai, my most recent job was a freelance designer for childrenswear. I remember, i often get asked to design clothes that little girls could wear for their first communion. Of course it’s a bit conservative but i like playing it up a bit.

Well, i was a bit nostalgic about those days when i saw these dresses, the first one is by Dolce and Gabbana and the next two are by Monnalisa i think. I wish the clothes for kids were as nice as these ones during my time. I would be the coolest girl in the world.

When i’m feeling a bit bored or uninspired, i like looking at childrens clothes or baby clothes…they always make me smile no matter what.

It’s just funny that a lot of people are commmenting about Bella’s sneakers. seriously, i know Bella’s not into fashion, but couldn’t she wear flats, or even plain sandals would’ve been better than sneakers.

That dress is just so pretty to be matched with sneakers. I wish Alice has given her shoes as well haha.

I love the makeup editorials of chinese fashion magazines.

Their skin always looks so luminous and fresh. Actually they’re not so crazy with too much makeup, in case you’ve noticed they’re just all about eyeliner and the lips. in some cases i think they skip the blush as well.

they’ve even  got these step-by-step guide. i’m gonna redo one of these looks soon.

also they’re quite big on the nails. i’ve seen a lot of girls here with fancy fake nails like these. but sadly, i have piano lessons and my teacher never forgets to remind me to cut my nails. lol.

it’ll just be on my wishlist for now. lol.

S Cawaii – July 2009

This is one of my favorite chinese magazines. yeah, i know, i don’t have a clue what’s written here but i still like it.

It’s funny when people always google, what to wear in a certain country. Isn’t it supposed to be a matter of the following:

1. weather

2. occasion

3. what is socially acceptable

4. your style

i mean, are you really going to dress up like everyone else? i’ve tried that before, no matter how you try to blend in, everyone’s different and that’s nothing to be ashamed of…you’re unique and you’re special.

but in case you’re still curious, here in shanghai, i notice a lot of girls wear, light colored tops like creme or off- cwhite. they’re quite trendy compared to other parts of china. i love it that you get to wear whatever you want and you don’t get those stares, if you know what i mean.

well, i picked up pictures from this S Cawaii issue that would in sum up what i’ve been seeing quite often on the streets. although im sure my other friends would say, i don’t wear that! lol.

Vests – a lot of times, i see different versions of vests, whether on t-shirts, or on dress. also they’ve got quite a lot of tailored blazers mixed with denim pants or shorts and t-shirts. but since it’s summer it’s just this vest that’s predominant.

Chiffon tops and dresses

either in floral or in ivory, offwhite or creme. seriously im gonna post creme tops one of these days there’s plenty on the road.

it’s barely the middle of the year and we’re talking about 2010 already? time flies really fast.

I love this collection because it’s cute, fun and everything’s mismatched. I get tired with having to make sure everything goes with which. Sometimes, there’s no discretion as to which one looks good bordering on plain looking.

this is a paperclip holder that looks like a bathroom sink. pretty cool right? it’s funny i was just browsing some furniture stuff coz i was planning to redecorate my small flat.

the thing is, it suddenly made me think of clothes. this is probably one of those moments paul smith has been talking about in his book lol. i’ve had that book 5 years ago…and it was only recently that a picture ignited a spark in me to design something.

i kinda miss designing too. inawhile, my time has been mostly spent on blogging coz it was also my dream when i was younger to be a writer. but then i know the designer in me is still here. somehow.

well, i just thought about this earlier when i was choosing something to wear. i thought, if we’re not keeping track of what we’re wearing whether in a notepad or at some fashion website like closet couture, how do we know if we’re repeating the same clothes over and over again?

well, my solution is, right after you wear your clothes, dump them on the laundry bin, then when it’s washed already, hang it on the farthest end of your closet. that way you wouldn’t have the tendency to reach for it when you’re in a hurry to dress up.

hopefully by the time, it gets to be the next choice, you’d be pairing it with another item, so technically, you’re not really repeating clothes right?

so how do you make sure you don’t wear the same clothes all the time?

seriously MAC is trying so hard to get every penny out of your pockets with all these upcoming collections, it seems like everything is a must-have and limited edition and every month or so there’s a new something to buy. that’s why i’m choosing right now and making my shopping list. i will not be tempted at the mac makeup counter, i will not be tempted at the mac makeup counter! lol!

i saw this at Temptalia’s today. Sneak Peek of MAC Graphic Garden. Actually when i saw this, i’m not that excited. They look kinda boring to me. I just might get the brush palettes and maybe one of the eyeshadow sets.

I guess the hype is just the hype. I wish the roses were engraved on metal, it looks very flat from the picture.

Is your guy attending a play or some photoshoot that needs makeup. Well, who could put makeup better than his special someone right?

Well, anyway, let me give you some tips on putting makeup on guys.

What Brand of Makeup to Use?

Well, if you’re planning to do this regularly, it might be okay to use some makeupbrands really meant for guys. Just for the purpose of making them at ease like it’s really meant for them, and this does not in any way say they’re girls.

But if this is just a one time thing, then you could use regular girl’s makeup. Hey their face isn’t THAT different from ours anyway.

Which Makeup to Use?

1. Tinted Moisturiser – make sure to really match their face and neck

2. Concealer

3. Foundation – Just a little bit

4. Darker foundation or bronzer – for contouring, plus i think tanned men are sexier. peace!

5. Lip balm

6. Lipstick – choose something really close to their natural lipcolor.

TRIVIA – What is Edward Cullen’s lipstick in Twilight?

Answer: Benefit Ms Behavin’ Lipstick
its dark color contrasts his pale white skin making him look more like a vampire. rawr!

7. Gloss – if the lipbalm didn’t make his lips a bit glossy yet you can add lipgloss. The objective here is to make the lips a bit more 3d than flat. We want dewy moist lips but nothing too glossy.

8. Finishing Powder or Blotting Bowder to remove the shine

9. Depending on the look he needs we could put some brown eyeshadow around the rim of his eyes, for that eyelined look.

10. Eyeliner will create a really dark look, so skip this if this is not the look that you’re going for.

Tips on Putting Makeup on Reluctant Men

1. Tie them up

haha i’m just kidding! but this could be your last resort. lol!

2. Don’t show them your entire makeup arsenal, they’ll run faster than you could spell men.

3. Tell them you’d be only putting the powder to absorb shine. What they don’t know they won’t know.
